AbHerï’s Diamonds

Every diamond was formed billions of years ago deep inside the earth, spending a long time in quiet darkness.
Nothing can compare to the shine of a diamond. It shall be a light illuminating your hopeful future.

The Pursuit of Quality

At AbHerï, a GIA Graduate Gemologist picks out the best diamonds from high-quality diamonds procured from around the world.

Proof of Quality

At AbHerï, diamonds are appraised by A.G.L(*) member organizations to prove they have cleared high quality standards.

*A.G.L (Association of Gemmological Laboratories, Japan)
Based on GIA international standards which is said to be the strictest in the industry, A.G.L works on standardization of Japan's diamond grading system and consumer consultation. Gemmological reports by A.G.L member organizations are based on the same standard.

Diamond Grading (the 4 Cs)

1. Carat

A unit of weight in gemstones. 1 carat equals 0.2 grams.
More carats mean a higher value in price. Combined with the other three elements (cut, color, and clarity) the value may become even higher.

2. Color

The color of diamonds is graded on a scale of D through Z. D(initial letter of Diamond) is the highest grading.
AbHerï's diamonds have a color grading of F(=colorless) or higher.

3. Clarity

The clarity of diamonds is graded on a scale of 11 by inspecting the number, size, and position of every inclusion visible under 10x magnification.
AbHerï's diamonds have a clarity grading of VS2 or higher. At this level, inclusions are rarely visible to the human eye.

4. Cut

The cut of a diamond is graded by proportion, symmetry and polish. This is the only grade which human technique makes a difference.
AbHerï's diamonds have a grading of VERY GOOD or higher.

Diamond Shapes

Oldmine-cut オールドマイン カット

Old Mine Cut

This cut is frequently seen in antique items. Because of the small table and high crown, old mine cut diamonds give off spectral or rainbow color that add depth to their shine.

Princess-cut プリンセス カット

Princess Cut

The large table and brilliant cut on the bottom side allows for a strong shine. This cut has a classic and elegant feel.

Marquise-cut マーキス カット

Marquise Cut

Named from the French word describing a noble ranking, this cut has a sharp leaf-shape. Well-balanced marquise cut diamonds can be very rare.

Round-brilliant-cut ラウンドブリリアント カット

Round Brilliant Cut

Highly perfected, this is the standard modern diamond shape. The 58 facets and ideal proportion give diamonds a beautifully balanced shine.

Heart-shape-cut ハートシェイプ カット

Heart Shaped Cut

A romantic and endearing cut. The heart shape should be balanced and bilaterally symmetric. Excellently cut heart-shaped diamonds are extremely rare.

AbHerï オリジナルオールドマインカット

The AbHerї Original Old Mine Cut

The old mine cut is common among 17th century antique diamonds.
With a small table and a high crown, this cut gives the diamond a unique and adorable proportion in profile. Also, the high crown disperses soft hues of spectral colors.

Diamonds in this type of cut are very rare in Japan. AbHerї has worked together with a British manufacturer to create this original old mine cut.
Refinement of the culet (the bottom tip of a diamond) has successfully given AbHerї' s original mine cut a certain depth and shine.
